Random Things About Me

• I was named after Lara from the classic love story Dr. Zhivago and played by the beautiful Julie Christie. It’s a chick flick from the 60’s. You got to love it!

• I’m loud. So loud my Japanese roommate in college moved out because she couldn’t handle how loud and noisy I was, specially Saturday and Sunday mornings. It must be the latin blood in me, hahaha.

• I am a chocaholic, shopaholic and workaholic, so as you see I have a very addictive personality.

• It hasn’t been diagnosed but I think I suffer from ADD because I can’t stay still, EVER.

• I hate fast food but I DIE for McDonalds’ Hot Fudge Sundays. I eat two at a time with extra fudge, it’s disgusting I know!!!

• I am a control freak, very obsessive and a hopeless perfectionist, and let me tell you, it sucks!

• I am the only girl and the youngest in my family. I have three brothers but sadly I lost one in a car accident. His name was Jose Alberto and he was only 22 years old, the youngest of the boys.

• I love food but I hate cooking, humm, not good. I could go to a different restaurant every day.

• I’m a Mac girl – of course!

• I’ve been a vegetarian for 11 years although I’ve had a few love affairs with fish in a couple of occasions.

• I don’t let anybody touch my knees, specially doctors. I suffer from the worst and loudest tickles you can imagine.

• I think the most disgusting food in the world it’s a tropical fruit called GUANABANA.

• I have a free and wild spirit, I’m a Sagittarius after all. Oh! and regarding that I must say that I love Astrology. That’s how I met Edward, through Astrology. He’s not only an awesome realtor but also a incredibly gifted astrologer.

• I grew up surrounded by photography. My father opened the firsts mini-labs in Venezuela (Rapidfot) back in the day. So I used to work every summer in the stores. I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun, specially dealing with professional photographers.

• I’m a typical girl: I love weddings and love stories. I watch every single chick flick. I love pink and bows and ruffles. And yes! I agree with the statement that diamonds are girls’ best friends! No question.

• I was going to study Art instead of graphic design but a few days before register I decided to go to the design school. I’m sure this decision changed the curse of my life.

• I’m daddy’s little girl and I still feel and behave like that. I’m really close to him and we’re very similar in personality. I’m trying to enjoy him as much as possible. He’s 80 and his health is very fragile.

• I love print design but I can’t stand website design, although I’ve been doing it for years!

• My birthday is supposed to be December 18th but I have serious doubts about it. I think my parents are confused and they’re not sure if it was the 18th or the 19th. How frustrating is that for a person who loves astrology. ahg..

• I go to Starbucks every single day of my life unless I’m dying at a hospital bed. My 2 drinks: Ice, grande, 2 splenda, green tea or grande, non-fat, 2 splenda, latte. Humm…

• My favorite alcoholic drink? “Cuba Libre” Rum and coke and I add lots of lime juice! I’m very unsophisticated when it comes to alcohol! Very picky for everything else…

• A frightening moment in my life was when I was held hostage in a jewelry store while it was being robbed in my wonderful country of Venezuela. They asked us to remove our clothes (we actually stayed in underwear except for the store manager who wasn’t wearing a bra, hahaha) and they pushed us on the floor face down and tied our wrists. They stole everything on the store (including all the jewelry I was wearing) and then they left. Wow! that’s was crazy scary. Thank God nothing else – other than that – happened.

• My first car was a Fiat Uno! and gosh, I couldn’t finish telling all the adventures I had in that little car.

• I had the most civilized divorced I’ve ever seen and my ex-husband and I are like very good friends now! How unusual is that?

• I believe there’s beauty in every soul and my goal as a photographer is to be able to capture that beauty.

• I believe in taking risks in life and daring to go follow your dreams.

• The control freak in me is learning to cede my power to God and to have faith in Him. This is, I think, what my heart wants the most: FAITH IN GOD!
