…And They All Cried!

I DID TOO BUT NOBODY SAW ME, JIJIJI

Hear me out! As you all know I’ve been taking pictures like crazy lately and most of them at my closest friends. A couple of weeks ago I had a shoot with my friend Andreina, her husband Jimmy and her daughter Isabella (Ohh! and the pea in the pot too). Since I’ve been so busy taking pictures I haven’t really had the time to edit or simply put them in a CD and give them away to my friends. Today I was going to see Andreina so I decided to not only give her their pictures but to prepare a little slideshow with all of them. I wanted to give them a little present. Let me tell you something, these guys are very special, they’re great friends, they care about people, they help our community and church and they have a beautiful family. What you’ll see in the slideshow is how they really are – loving and caring! So we had a Family series today with our Pastor which she holds at her house. I brought my laptop and very casually we played it in the kitchen. So what’s my surprise? Not three seconds into the slideshow and everybody’s crying. I’m toughing it out to hold my tears because I know this brings a lot of emotions to everyone. The photographer is not supposed to be crying right? After all I already did while I was doing the animation while sitting at Starbucks! Nobody was there ok? The reason I’m explaining all this is because I FELT GREAT! Not because I made them cried, hahaha, that wasn’t my intentions at all, but because this was the reason I decided to become a photographer. To have a passion that can bring happiness and strong emotions like this is priceless. This is meaningful to me, but not only to me, but to other people too, and that’s freaking awesome! I’ve known this wonderful family from day one, they’ve created this love and unity, and I know that to them what you’ll see it’s really a “Dream Come True” I LOVE YOU GUYS and thanks for the honor of being my friends!

Karen: Une jolie femme

My beautiful French friend Karen and I took a vintage trip to Sunrise Blvd where I found this old abandoned train in the middle of the city. And since today I had to return the rental camera :( we had exactly 45 minutes to finish this shoot. It was a little CRAZY!!! I was sweating and rushing like a mad woman – not that I’m not usually like that already. Sadly this was my last shoot until I rent the camera again in February. I still have a lot of pictures to upload but because yesterday I had the Portfolio+Workshop all day, today I’m exhausted so this post is a short one and to the point.  Tomorrow I need to be inspired to write about my experience with this INCREDIBLE group of photographers!  That’s going to be a good one but now I’m going to sleep because I don’t even know what I’m writing anymore… Oh! by the way, isn’t she gorgeous?

Photo shoot Marathon Sneak Peek

WOW! MY FIRST PHOTO SHOOT EVER WITH REAL PEOPLE AND A REAL CAMERA!

Today I’m extremely happy and exhausted! I’ve been taking pictures non-stop since Friday afternoon. In case you don’t know I rented a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and I received it on Thursday. I had scheduled my first photo session for Friday at noon right after work and when I grabbed the camera I swear I had a panic attack. There were like two million abbreviations around the body of my new rental and little tiny buttons that I still don’t know what the hell they’re for. My husband was cracking up looking at me almost in tears thinking of the people I already had committed to and not knowing if I was going to be able to deliver a good job. I still don’t know if I did, hahaha. Anyway, I took the manual and started reading: focus, aperture, shutter speed, f-stop, and blah, blah, blah. What the heck? Well, the aperture and shutter speed I’ve kind of got but I’m seriously thinking about taking some classes besides my coming workshops because this is something else, no really! My models were all friends of mine and I swear they rocked my world up side down. Seriously? Nobody complaint at all about my incompetency and my slow speed. And they all look so GORGEOUS in the pictures, I swear I can’t stop looking at them. Danielle, Amalia, Lina, Jaime Andres, Marjorie, Lucia, Andreina, Jimmy and the beautiful Isabella: THANK YOU SO MUCH. I can’t tell you enough how grateful I am to all of you and how much this helped me to learn and practice. After this experience I decided that definitely there’s nothing else in this world I rather do or be than a lifestyle and wedding photographer. It was so much fun and now that I see the pictures I feel so incredibly happy. For those of you with experience in this photography world please BE NICE :) this was my first photo shoot EVER, I know now that grabbing a professional camera it’s not all it takes to take great pictures but hey I’m trying. I know they are not all that and I can only promise to keep trying my best, keep learning from every single session and do better every time. I do like them though and I think my friends are so beautiful and so real… I LOVE YOU GUYS! By the way, this is just a sneak peek, I’m planning to upload one post per each session I had so you can see more…
